If you would like to create small groups in a course, here are the steps you should take:

  1. Create a Course for this activity.

2. Create one unique RoundTable for each group of students and name them accordingly. For example, “GROUP 1 - (discussion title)”. If the questions are mostly the same with small edits you can “duplicate” the RoundTable (select the three dots at the top right of the page) and make small edits. You can also edit the title of each RoundTable by clicking on it.

3. After the RoundTables are created, you will go into each one and press “invite students” and either select students or invite with a link/code.

  • Manually select students (see visual below)

  • If this is the first discussion with your course, press “Copy Link”. Then paste the link in the setup in the step below.

4. Create a post in your LMS that looks like this:

Step 1 - Find your name and click your group’s link to join the discussion! Submit a response to the discussion prompt.

Step 2 - After participating in your own discussion join other groups as an observer (click skip to discussion)
